CM Singh arrived in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday with his Cabinet, and on Thursday, he engaged in the holy dip alongside his ministers.
In a post on X, he expressed, "Standing at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati at Triveni Sangam, one feels the embrace of divinity itself. As the cool waters touch the soul, they wash away not just the dust of the body but the burdens of countless lifetimes."
He further noted, "With folded hands and a heart full of devotion, I pray for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of our great nation and the beloved people of Manipur."
On the same day, Nayab Saini arrived in Prayagraj to partake in the holy dip and plans to continue his pilgrimage to Ayodhya the following day to pray at the Ram Temple.
These events occurred shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Prayagraj on Wednesday, where he also took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, situated at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers.
He offered prayers to the River Ganga and kept his visit brief to minimize disruption for fellow pilgrims during the VIP presence.
In remarks to IANS regarding PM Modi's visit, Biren Singh stated, "We are very happy that PM Modi came here to pray for the peace of the country and the world. I am here to pray for peace and prosperity too. I am here for the peace and prosperity of Manipur."
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13 and will conclude on February 26, has attracted millions of devotees both nationally and internationally.
This grand religious assembly is anticipated to establish new attendance records. On Basant Panchami, a vast number of devotees gathered for the Amrit Snan, creating a massive congregation from various regions.
Despite a recent tragic incident that resulted in 30 fatalities and over 60 injuries, the zeal among pilgrims remains unwavering. In light of this tragedy, security measures have been markedly intensified, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally overseeing the arrangements.
The enhanced security was especially noticeable during the Basant Panchami Amrit Snan, where thousands of devotees participated in a peaceful and well-organized dip at the Sangam Nose.
Previously, the UP Chief Minister conducted a high-level review meeting from his official residence to ensure all necessary preparations were in place.
